The comfort and facilities at The Old House make it a pleasure to stay. The ground floor provides an extra-large farmhouse kitchen opening onto a spacious living area, and views that stretch for miles in every direction. Wild deer can be readily seen on the hills and sometimes in the garden! Eagles and Buzzards soar high above; hosts of smaller birds visit the quiet garden space in front of The Old House. A further 7 acres of enclosed open ground with tree plantings surround the property.

Towels and bed linen are included and changed on demand. The property is thoroughly cleaned at every changeover.
On the ground floor there is a 30m² spacious living room with two doors to the outside. One door leading to the garden and the other to the decking, where there is seating for picnics, etc. The living room, which has a huge fireplace containing an efficient wood burning stove, opens onto a very large fully equipped kitchen.
The master bedroom has a four poster bed and private bathroom.
A laundry room contains a washing machine, freezer and Belfast sink (for cleaning the salmon). There is ample hanging and storage space for fishing gear / outdoor clothes and a drying cupboard. Lastly, on the ground floor, there is a wet room with a large walk-in shower and WC. From every window you can look out over wonderful views and admire the wild landscape.
Upstairs there are two spacious twin bedrooms either side of the hallway, (which has a view up to Coire Daimh and Ben Udlaidh), the “Blue Room” and the “Green Room”. Each with 2 beds, wardrobe, chairs, etc., has views both down to the river and up to the higher ground. The bathroom in between the bedrooms, also at the top of the stairs, has a bath with shower over, a toilet and wash hand basin.
Your hosts are at your disposal to ensure you enjoy your stay in the glen. In addition to the standard equipment (crockery, cutlery, utensils, fridge, etc.) there is a separate upright freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster. A large screen Television, a DVD / CD and VCR are installed in the living room. The house has satellite internet access via Wi-Fi. Mobile phone connections are patchy although use of a landline telephone is available from the owners. The Old House has its own network water supply and a modern filtration system. Heaters and an electric hot water boiler will give you total comfort and a constant supply of hot water.
The property has a mains electrical connection; however we also generate renewable energy from a small hydroelectric scheme and photo-voltaic solar panels.
All charges are included in the rental price, for example, sheets and towels as well as wood for the fire.
A non-smoking policy is operated throughout.
Pets, “well behaved”, are welcomed subject to a small charge.
